So...I started school. How is it going? It's going and it's dragging me along with it. There is so much to do and not enough hours in the day! I am currently taking the MBA core that all first-year students take, which is 16.5 credits. My classes are leadership, financial accounting, fundamentals of finance, operations management, human capital management, marketing management, a weekly management seminar, and a weekly organizational behavior/human resources professional seminar. On top of all of that, students on the OB/HR track (that's me) begin attending company info sessions and doing interviews for summer internships within the first 3 weeks of school. I have had six interviews with six fantastics companies and hope I have the chance to go where I will fit the best and make the strongest contribution. Internships are more scarce than they have been in previous years due to the poor economy. I know things have a way of working out, I just hope everyone including myself ends up with a good opportunity.
During the first couple weeks of the MBA program, I felt a strong impression on a number of occasions that I was right where I was supposed to be. The subsequent weeks have been really challenging and I have sometimes wondered if I belong. But I keep thinking back to those impressions that I had and am reminded that the things I am learning go beyond the bits of information taught in class. Also, I have learned, especially today, that all I can do is my very best and that is good enough.
I am really thankful for a loving Heavenly Father who sends comfort, aid, and strength to his children whom he loves beyond our mortal comprehension. I am also thankful for people who listen to the promptings of the Spirit and become answers to others' prayers.
In other news...
I have been on a music-sharing kick the past few days and want to share a few gems I have come across recently. There's is a fantastic band called Take That from England who have some awesome songs. I friend of mine said it best, "I am a sucker for a great pop song," and I couldn't agree more.
