A few months ago, a friend introduced me to a website called TED. Their tagline is, "Ideas worth spreading." They started out as a conference in 1984 bringing together technology, education, and design. They now show the talks on the internet for free. They are from all kinds of people all over the world. I have only seen a few talks but have found them to be amazing and inspiring. Here are a few I have seen recently.
Jill Bolte Taylor is a world reknown brain scientist who had a stroke. Her experience is fascinating. Listen through gospel ears and you will find some beautiful teachings.
This guy, Jose Abreu started a school in Venezuela called El Sistema. It is for musically gifted children and is one of the most prestigious in the country and known around the world. But the really remarkable thing about this school is that there is little to no cost for the student. They target those in poverty and transform their lives. It's very touching and definitely something work spreading.
Is is a performance of the students in El Sistema. They are led by Gustavo Dudamel, a former student of the school who rose from poverty to become a world-class conductor. He is now musical director of the LA Philharmonic and the Gothenberg Symphony.
Wow. So what did you think??

I had heard of TED but had no idea it was that extensive.
This is the only video I've seen prior to your post, but I loved it so you might too. If you are a fan of Felicity, Alias, Lost, Fringe, MI:3, or Star Trek, you'll love listening to the director, JJ Abrams.
