The current sitch

I was looking back at all of my past blog entries and noticed a few things:

-  Man, I have had a lot of fun, awesome experiences!  I have been really blessed in many ways.
-  Before the dating desert that was grad school, I used to be anxiously engaged in the cause.  I really need to get back to active dating.
-  My whole life used to revolved around music.  I don't regret in the least degree pursuing education and a career in business.  I firmly believe that we should develop all of our talents and not limit ourselves to certain categories. I had little time to pursue music in grad school the way I did before.  Now that I am finished, I want to make it a goal to make that a bigger priority.  It gave me such joy and satisfaction and I really miss it.
-  In earlier entries, I "journaled" a lot more, meaning I chronicled the day to day activities and happenings.  It has been fun to share videos, music, amusing stories, articles, and the like.  However, it was neat to read about the day to day stuff I forgot about.  I would like to do more of that in the future and will begin...NOW.

For the past few weeks I have been busy with a lot of family things.  I can't always remember the order and dates of things so I'll just give a general run down.  I really wanted to make this break between school and work a time where I can help my mom with all of the things she can't do for herself right now or things she has always wanted but was too shy to ask someone.  It feels really good to help her out, even if it's just little things.  I painted her long hallway on the top level and will be painting a bathroom next week.  On Saturday I am going to powerwash the patio, garage door, and house siding.  They always do that on HGTV shows and it seems to do a lot of good.  I have been doing a lot of errands for her and try to cook as often as she will let me.  It has been so great to spend time with the family.  Me and Spence have been hanging out a lot more, too.  I don't realize just how much I miss him until I get another chance to spend time with him.  He is honestly one of the most funny and fun persons I know.
My Grandmother had surgery last week and I have been lucky enough to be her errand girl and chauffeur.  She is sharp as a tack and quite independent and capable, especially for an 85-year-old with as many health problems as she has.  I have really enjoyed spending time with her and my grandpa.  Every time I see them they tell me over and over again how I am the best thing since sliced bread and, honestly, I am starting to get a big head.
I've also been doing some babysitting.  Those nieces and nephews are undeniably the cutest, smartest, funniest kids on the planet.  Really.  You should hang around them sometime and you will be in full agreement.
That's all for now.  Peace out homies.
